Scott Keating is a dynamic business professional with over twenty-five years of fundraising experience in nonprofit, faith-based, and higher education institutions. He has experience in leading fundraising teams, as well as developing new opportunities to advance the ministries. He has a consistent record of generating new revenue streams by establishing strategic relationships and partnerships.
Scott Keating’s interest in fundraising started back in college at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. There, Scott was involved in numerous professional development workshops. He attended multiple conferences including the Christian Leadership Alliance, Jerold Panas’ Institute for Charitable Giving and the Council for Christians Colleges and Universities Chief Advancement Officers. He also attended annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and special events conferences hosted by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
After graduating from Eastern University, Scott Keating began his professional career as an admissions counselor, where he exceeded his annual admissions goals. Scott started off as an admissions counselor, and then moved up the ranks to Director of Alumni & Church Relations, to Director of Annual Giving, to Director of Major Gifts. His main responsibilities included soliciting funds for annual and capital projects alongside the vice president of the university. Scott would also travel extensively to visit and solicit support from donors.
In 1991, Scott Keating decided to continue his professional career at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. While there, he obtained his Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership. Scott worked for the University from 1991 to 2013. He began his tenure as the Director of Development, then was promoted to Vice President of Development, and then to Senior Vice President of Advancement, and finished his tenure there as the Senior Advancement Officer/Executive Director of the Regency Foundation.
At Cairn, Scott was a member of the President’s Cabinet and managed an annual program budget of upwards of $700,000. He delivered presentations to professional organizations regarding the university’s mission, goals, programs, services, future outlook, and fundraising efforts.
In December of 2013, Scott Keating went to work for Lancaster Bible College. He is the President of the Ambassador Foundation and Sr. Major Gifts Officer. In these roles, he is responsible for working with donors to secure major capital gifts for capital campaigns, operating funds and working with individual donors in estate planning.
